Fleas are often around 2.5cm, wingless and a reddish/brown colour. Despite being wingless, they can jump long distances.

Fleas often come from a pet, like a dog or cat. The pests attach themselves to the animal when it's outside, and then infest its fur, which often leads to the fleas coming indoors. Flea prevention can be a tricky task, and without preventative measures, can often lead to an in-house infestation.

Flea bites may leave the host with numerous swollen, itchy marks. They may cause allergic reactions in some people and can transmit several diseases.
